  • Elections are the base of democratic type of ruling.
  • Elections gives oppurnity to the citizen of the country to elect their their reprensentative.
  • These elected representatives form the govt at different levels.Like:- Central Govt.,State Govt,.and Local Govt.
  • The Universal adult franchise (right to vote) give right to the citizen(above 18 yrs age)to elect their rules.

Is it good to have political competition?
  • Yes,political competition in democracy is good for strentheny the democracy.
  • Different political pastics having competition in election and they put their manufacto before the voters.

  • Some times the face of candidate got importance in election .For ex:-the face of of the of Narendra Modi in General election 2014&2019.

Electoral Constituencies
  • The country is divided into different area for purpose of Elections these are called Electoral Constituencies.
  • Features of democratic election is that every vote should have Equal power
Reserved Constituencies
  • Some constituencies are reserved for people who belongs to the SC&ST
  • In the Lok Shabha 84 seats are reserved for SC and 47 seats reserved for ST.
  • One third of the seats are reserve in rules area and urban area for women candidate.
Voter List
  • In our country all citizens age 18years and above can give vote in an Election.
  • The lists of officialy called the Election roll and is commonly know as the voter list.
  • The voter list is also know as Phachan Patra.
Nomination of Candidates
  • Any one who can be votes will 18yrs but come in candidates minimum age 25yrs.
  • Political party nomiate thier candidates who gets party symbol&support.
